The Inn At Robert’s Grove: A VERY Comfortable Way to Visit the Placencia Peninsula

A few months ago, I took my first trip to Placencia, the beautiful small beach town that is probably the second most popular beach vacation in Belize after Ambergris Caye.  I loved it there.  Love it there.  And plan to return early and often.

My first two nights were spent in the town proper (you can read about and see the pictures from those visits below).  Next I moved a bit north to a resort just south of Seine Bight but a quick taxi ride from Placencia, The Inn At Robert’s Grove.

From the moment I was greeted with my welcome punch, I knew I would be very very comfortable here.

A bit too comfortable in my suite and on the gorgeous grounds…I really didn’t want to leave.

A picture of the main building with the dining room, the main bar and just a beautiful lounge area.

This main area is so so inviting.

I love when a hotel/resort has a common area that you really want to spend time in.  I grabbed my book (well let’s be honest…my computer…Facebook was calling!) and spent quite a bit of time on these comfy leather couches.

(The wind was HIGH and the water, usually blue, was all churned up for the night I was there.)

Here is my perch.

And you can see behind that a trip to Silk Caye is being organized.  The front desk folks are absolutely lovely and will help you will everything you need.  Really.

Not a bad view.

IMG_2406There are a few different beautiful pool areas and I was led past this one to my room.

And the view from the lounge chairs.  I spent some time here too.

My sea view suite was huge.  A full kitchen and sitting area decorated with lots of local art…

and a bedroom with…ahhhhh I miss you…a beautiful comfy feather pillow piled bed with great sheets.

IMG_2301And my balcony.  You could throw a good sized party here.  Very family friendly suite.

IMG_2303I love the resort’s attention to detail.  There is beautiful local art and sculpture in your room and all over the grounds…

IMG_2312 Love this lamp fixture.IMG_2403The plants, the setting, the furniture…unlike resorts that try to make you feel like you are in Florida or in Venice, at Robert’s Grove you know you are in Belize.

And their RG logo was subtly everywhere.

A conch shell at the gorgeous breakfast buffet (best I’ve had in Belize)…

IMG_3726Just thoughtful and beautiful and a nod to the care they take with your visit.

My breakfast table in the morning.  Dressed in my usual shorts & a tank top, I listened to classical music, ate delicious food and felt…well…very civilized.

There are three restaurants at Robert’s Grove.  A very reasonably priced local place called Mama’s.

A Mexican place across the street at the large marina.

IMG_2329I had a great meal here…

And then the dining room where I ate breakfast.

Robert’s Grove really is beautiful.  If you are looking for a resort where everything is taken care of for you, this is an ideal spot in Placencia.

A short walk to Seine Bight and a even shorter taxi ride to Placencia (where you are going to want to go for many meals), everything is conveniently located and easy to get to.

For all of the information on Robert’s Grove, check out their website.

Lovely.
