Love FM’s 3rd Annual San Pedro Christmas Parade
I can’t lie – Saturday night’s cancellation (due to low participation) of the San Pedro Lighted Boat parade was a huge Christmas downer. But I’m going to try to rally. The beautiful town tree is up and lit and houses all over the island are looking pretty darn Christmasy.
And last night, the national radio station Love FM came to town, to kick off their own town parade. This one through the streets of town rather than on the water. And it was super fun, not as big as last year’s, but there for me when I need a little Christmas. Sigh…
Here are the pictures I took at last night’s parade. And, if you need a TON of Christmas, Love FM does the BIG ONE in Belize City next weekend. December 14th. At around 4pm. I just might.
I arrived early for the line up.
There were so many kids out. And one clever sales person (the same one who sells at all parades/celebrations) selling these hats for $5bzd.
Santa’s sleigh. There were about 18 Santas in the parade…all pelting us with candy.
A manger scene on one of the little side streets in Boca Del Rio.
The beautiful ladies of the marching band.
I love you Santa but it was dangerous being near you last night. He was showering the crowd and the kid mob with tons and tons of candy. And in Belize, I never learn my lesson. READ THE WRAPPER BEFORE EATING. My fourth piece was a Starburst looking treat that was Chili flavor. Blech.
Love the BTB’s glittery Snorkel Santa…
DJ Debbie had the Lions’ Club, the Leos’ Club and the crowd dancing.
Santa was at the front of the Conga line…
Fun. A great kick-off for Christmas…thanks Love FM!
