Saturday Snapshots: Pictures of My Week in Belize

I went from Maya Beach, Placencia back to Ambergris Caye over the past week and took tons of pictures in between.  Some published on my blog…some on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram (or all three)…

Here are my snapshots (mostly on my IPhone 4s) around Belize.

The beautiful beach on the Placencia Peninsula – between the Belize Ocean Club and Maya Beach Hotel & Bistro.

And later that same day.

The Peanut Brittle Ice Cream Pie that I ate.  Chosen for me off this impossible-to-choose from list.

And the gorgeous cinnamon roll (still warm) that I brought home for later.

Some super cute signs of Maya Beach…

And it was Monday, time to head home.  Back to San Pedro.  On the express bus that stopped in Dangriga…and then in Belmopan and finally in Belize City on a GORGEOUS day.  The view from Spoonaz Cafe’s new back deck.

And then into San Pedro…the view from the Tacklebox dock in the middle of town.

Tuesday I did some errands around town.  A little Valentine’s shopping at Graniel’s Dreamland.

And these cool stone hearts at RubiMoon.

A hammock for two is always romantic – and this is the first time I saw one with BELIZE embroidered on the side.

I saw some of my photos from last year’s LobsterFests printed in Tropic Air’s 2015 “Tropic View” booklet.

Wednesday I had breakfast at Estel’s Dine by the Sea…look at that view!

I chatted with Charles about the BBQ cook-off coming this Tuesday.  6 entrants.  Come and taste all the ribs.  (Here’s a look at the very first BBQ cook-off.)

cook offI took a picture of him and his country ribs…and tasted them.  Like smokey pork candy.

The weather continued to be perfect.  For a ride on the Coastal Express north…

and for the Kelly McGuire show at Palapa Bar.

And then I spent some time with my favorite dog, Elsie.  She was found by the amazing Hopkins Humane Society when we were in Dangriga a few months ago…and in really dire shape.

Elsie found in mid-October 2014.  Starving (her former owner was trying to kill her by not feeding her), with horrible wounds on her legs but SO HAPPY TO SEE US.  Once she removed that tail from between her legs, it was whacking side to side with all the attention she was getting.

elsie foundToday, she lives on Ambergris Caye, up at Rojo Beach Bar, has gained 15lbs and is happy and getting SO much better.

She has new shoes so she doesn’t nervously chew her toes.  And she is simply the cutest thing ever.

IMG_1396[1]This morning, I am off to the 2nd Annual Harley Davidson Rally in Belize City…

(Here’s a look at last year’s rally.)

I’ll be reporting back for sure.
