Fido’s Courtyard

Scoop Approved

The biggest bar in town and the one I’d call the most consistently “happening”.  All first time visitors seem to spend a considerable chunk of time in here.  And why not?  Live music every night starting at 9pm, the largest palapa in Belize, friendly, professional staff and some very cute shops, I’m pretty sure you’ll find yourself spending a considerable chunk of time here too.

  • unfortunately.. FIDOS has had a policy that , crippled people ,especially those in wheel chairs ,are not gladly invited into the place.

A policy? Have you had that experience?

      • yes…!!!
there friends…the x-nascar driver..and the garifuna gal…alba valesquez..who were refused entry b/c they were/are in a type of wheel chair.

I absolutely love your blog. We came to Ambergris Caye for the first time in March 2013, and I fell in love with this island. The beauty of the island , the friendliness of the locals and the cuisine are just the start of things that will keep you coming back. I was reading someones posts on here that were very negative , and I immediately got annoyed because that is the most inaccurate description of San Pedro. It’s hard to imagine anyone not falling in love with La Isla Bonita ! With that being said …. we will be arriving on the island this Thursday for 10 days ! I am sooo excited to come back , it’s like going home. Any pointers for day/evening activities ? We are bringing guests this time so we get to play your guide 🙂

Thanks so much. I totally agree with you. Breakfast at Estel’s as much as you can. BBQ up at Lazy Croc’s is always fun (rent a golf cart for the day and hit Palapa Bar too). Snorkelling (of course)…I love it with a full day sail to Caye Caulker. I have the BEST time each time. I’m planning to go with Seaduced on Wed as a matter of fact. Thanks for the comment JerseyGirlinNY (I was that for whilte too!)
