Lobsterfest’s Grand Prize Winner, Breakfast to Die For, A Walk South & And A New Bar…
Have I packed enough random topics into today’s post? Maybe I can string them together in a coherent way. You can let me know.
Yesterday the Grand Prize Winner for the 2014 San Pedro Lobsterfest was announced. The prize is…well…amazing. Ridiculous in fact.
I stopped into the Seaduced Tour office and saw the prizes fanned out on the table. (Check out the full list at the end of the post.) Hotel stays at Ramon’s, Xanadu and more. Tropic Air tickets to the island…lots more.
And the lovely lovely LOVELY Rose, new resident of San Pedro, was the lucky winner! Go Rose! She moved here just last September with her equally talented husband Bob. He’s the writer (a real writer!) of my favorite San Pedro blog – Bound for Belize.
(I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if she got this giant pile of certificates home, promptly laid them out on the couch and rolled in them. It’s totally what I would have done.)
Ok, yes, second favorite blog. But I can hardly bear reading my own after typing it all out each morning so that hardly counts…
I couldn’t be more happy for her. Why not celebrate it with a breakfast right across the way at Mesa Cafe? I’ve gushed about the great owners and the food but let me gush some more because I just tried some heaven on a plate. My dream breakfast…
Coconut French Toast.
It tasted better than the photo. Though it probably wasn’t the correct choice after Crossfit class…
Don’t you just love when the bread is thick and the inside is like warm creamy custard? Mmmm.
Not to worry, I took a good walk later that afternoon and discovered a new bar and coconut trees. Or at least I discovered an hour long obsession with taking photos of their reflections on the water. Yesterday was beautiful with a surprisingly chilly breeze…at least chilly for June in Belize.
Walking south towards Victoria House…
And then just south of resort. Remember the old Fido’s Sandbar? A huge palapa style bar and restaurant that closed maybe 3 or 4 years ago and then was leveled?
A new palapa has been built.
A pretty view of the pool at Royal Caribbean next door…
And even prettier of the sea in the front. It’s a tricky location but I wish them the best…
I continued south despite this ominous warning sign…
I’ll leave it at that.
