San Pedro’s Christmas Lighted Boat Parade Is Back And GORGEOUS. Tickets MUST Be Booked For Next Year!
Last night was one of my favorite events of the year…a DO-NOT-MISS-EVENT. The San Pedro Christmas Lighted Boat Parade. An annual event…we hope. The last one was in 2012 and it was fantastic. Beyond great. 2013 was cancelled due to lack of participation. But this year, it was back! With so many people congregating in San Pedro’s Central Park.
A full moon and 8 boats I hear…beautiful.

Hear? Yes. I MISSED IT. Sadly. I was on an all day trek from San Pedro to NJ…here was my view as I loaded on to my American Airlines flight to Miami at the Belize International AIrport. Not quite as festive. Neither is getting to Ridgewood, NJ (my hometown) at 12.45am in FREEZING cold rain.
So let’s get to the parade. My tech-partner Chris took some great shots. And a few friends are sending them this morning. So here is the San Pedro Lighted Boat Parade. LOVE IT…even from chilly CHILLY NJ.
As one parade observer said “This one was excellent. Will set the bar for next year”.
And for those of you who were there with cameras? You KNOW how hard it is to take pictures, at night of moving boats. I am very grateful.
The ultimate winner for the night…
How cool is this? A fish…a dragon…
The Lions’ Den boat packed with drummers.
Fishing santa! Awwww.
To me, it’s the official kick off for Christmas.
People in the park…caroling…games…
The SAGA Humane Society was doing photos with Santa…a HUGE hit every year.
So beautiful. Such a great family event. I just hope this continues and gets bigger and better each year. If you are starting to get the winter blahs (15 hours in the Northeast and I already have a full blown case of them)…and you want a break from the crazed shopping and traffic and holiday madness…
book a trip to San Pedro for the first weekend in December. Bring the family. Or not. Grab a few t-shirts, a few bathing suits and your camera because THIS EVENT will get you in the proper holiday state of mind.
Congratulations to Eric Henkis of Uprising Fishing Tours. First place with this amazing shark. And to the boat sponsors, one of my favorite places on earth…Blue Water Grill.
And if you got any great pictures that you’d like to share, please (pretty please) send them to me at [email protected]. I am MORE than happy to link to your business…or sponsor…
Thanks so much and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
