Gorgeous Day For A Walk Up North: Rojo Beach Bar to the Canary Cove Compound
Yesterday’s weather can be described as breezy to extremely breezy…with a mix of just about everything. From almost full sun to heavy rain squalls…
Just after lunch, I headed north from Rojo Beach Bar – which is located at about 5.5 miles North Ambergris Caye to Canary Cove – just over 6 miles north. Take a LOOK at their website. Holy crap! A like a place that can be described as “a compound”.
Here are some of the photos from this really pretty walk. The bar pool at Rojo.
And passing Mata Chica and their rainbow colored cabanas…
They were working feverishly to clean up the sargasso seaweed that is washing up in bulk – and doing a pretty good job of it.
Farther up the beach.
Gorgeous and pricey looking neighborhood.
Xaman ‘Ek….or the former Xaman ‘Ek is in a bit of disrepair. Jambel’s Restaurant used to be located here…
But now there is a smaller restaurant – Jamaya right next door – where the spa used to be…
A pretty stretch of land for sale.
The view from the next resort – La Perla del Caribe. More luxury villas than resort.
The sky north was getting darker and darker…
Large homes…this one is named Casa Layla I believe.
You can see the breeze AND the sargasso.
In spots? Like around this gorgeous be-conched dock? Ugh.
And then Canary Cove – I didn’t linger too long. Rain was approaching…
And a rainbow that looked so brilliant thru my sunglasses and so…meh…in my photos.
Rainbow over the beautiful hammocks at Portofino Resort. Again…in my mind an award winning photo and then this…
Sigh. It was a gorgeous day anyway. Perfectly breezy for a walk.
