Lobster Festival San Pedro Starts Tomorrow – Here’s the Scoop!

The official start to Lobster season is just ONE DAY away.  Fishermen have been out setting traps and laying down lobster shades in preparation and the events are in place for the Ambergris Caye Lobster Festival…

Here is a recap of what’s about to go down in San Pedro town.  At the beginning, at each event, you can pick up a Passport and then get a stamp at each event.

Pick up your passport at any event.

An attendee of the festival is going all out.  Look at these nails!

At the end, at the Block Party, passports will be collected (and returned to you for a very cool souvenir)… Each stamp will entitle the passport holder to a raffle ticket to enter into a grand raffle of a vacation package for two to the San Pedro Lobster Festival 2017. The more stamps you get in your passport the more chances you have to win! The winner receives a vacation package back to San Pedro. The package includes local air fare, complimentary hotel stays, tours, golf cart rental, bar tabs, dinner and many more surprises.

All kicking off at Caribbean Villas on the first official Lobster Day…your very first stamp.

Day Two:  Caye Coffee 

The best coffee on the island.  Stop by and they will be roasting, so, they will have a chance to see what they do, in action. It is the first day event this year. There will be a discounted price for the coffee.  It’s a killer souvenir (one of the best in San Pedro).

Pirates Treasure

A will be hosting a three course lobster meal at the Chef’s Table Belize for their night time Lobster Festival Event. A special Menu will be available for (walk Ins) regular seating and only 17 seats available at Chef’s Table by Reservations Only at $75us per person, Reserve your seat now! Call 668 2156! Our three course lobster special at Chef’s Table Belize will be available throughout the lobster Festival 2016, don’t miss out!

Day Three:  

Mesa Cafe in the day time and their KILLER breakfast and coffee.

Estel’s Restaurant in the evening.  On everyone’s top 5 list.

And rather than keeping going…this is the longest lobsterfest that we’ve had yet…let me tell you some of the plans that are now out.

Sandy Point Resorts at Costa Blu Resort

Everyone is welcome at Lobster Sunday, 19 June from 3pm – 9pm.  Five different Sandy Point restaurants and bars will be represented, offering their best lobster dishes and cocktails. Beer by the bucketful will also be stocked in plenty of ice. Other things you should know:

Complimentary boat transportation on a fixed schedule will be available! To guarantee your spot, please sign up at the front desk of your Sandy Point resort by 5pm on Friday, 17 June. Limited space available.

Food and drink tickets will be available for purchase at the ticket booth near the dock with cash or credit card. Tickets are worth US $5 each, no cash will be accepted at the booths. Most food and beverage items are 1-2 tickets

There will be games, live entertainment, great photo ops, a historical display and more. It’s not just about the food! (But really, it’s absolutely all about the food!)

Tuesday:  Wahoo’s Lounge and Pineapple’s Restaurant at Ramon’s

June 24th, Friday – The Palapa Bar is officially opening their new upper deck.  The view is ridiculous and it’s one of the prettiest spots to swim…and drink in town.

The Block Party on Saturday night, the 25th is the block buster event.

Lots of the restaurants in town will have booths and will be competing for best drink and best lobster dish.  There will be live music including MY FAVORITE The Kids’ Pannerifix Steel Drum Band.  They always kick off the event with a mix of old and new…

And always make me tear up.

There will be shirts available, lots of booths and lobster made 1000 different ways.

I am currently in Rhode Island but will be back JUST in time for the big block party on June 25th.  I’ll make sure to sample some New England lobsters here to make sure our Spinys are up to par.
