LoveFM’s 6th Annual San Pedro Christmas Parade Keeps Getting Better
Last night was the big lighted Christmas LAND parade through downtown San Pedro. The lighted BOAT parade is next week on Saturday. I used to consider this one the new kid on the block but radio station has done such an amazing job…and this parade just keeps getting bigger and better. This year was the longest, most well attended by dressed up children and threw out the most candy. Consider me the official Guinness book official of Ambergris Caye.
I took many many photos and most are horrendous. Night! Movement! Weird lighting. But I’ll start with my favorite and just continue from there.
The parade officially started at 5:30pm…and I was there a bit early. Man…what a pretty night. Big bright moon, pinkish purple clouds threatening for a bit but just a tiny spritz.
I first walked by Wayo’s Beach Bar and found San Pedro’s Walkaholics lining up. A group of guys (mostly) who do a walking bar crawl on Wednesday afternoons.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
SAN PEDRO TREND ALERT: I saw about 4 more of these beards while in town yesterday. Santa is WAY trending.
And then to the front of the line-up where I saw the sun setting across the way…
The parade wasn’t going to start for at least another 30 minutes. Totally worth waiting for.
Now let’s get to the parade. Our mayor and Miss San Pedro.
The town council.
Everyone throwing candy to the kids…and LOVEFm giving stuffed animals to the little ones. Super cute.
Miss Isla Bonita School.
Santa! The kids wave so shyly and reverently. Super cute.
The little girl next to me watching the tumblers.
The bat mobile and beautiful Fatima.
and candy cane twirlers.
And then Foreva Fancy – again wowing with the COSTUMES!
DJ Debbie leading them off…
You might remember her from our September Jump Up Independence parade. My cover girl.
And more…not just sparkling but dancing together.
Beautiful Miss San Pedro High School, Faith.
Such a super fun night. Wings closed it out with Mickey and Minnie and lots and lots of lights.
We have more holiday events coming up!
Wednesday night at Truck Stop they are showing “Love Actually” – one of my favorites.
Saturday night is the Lighted Boat Parade – 6pm from Wayo’s Beach Bar down to Crazy Canuck’s and back. NOT TO BE MISSED.
And just about anytime…get your golf cart and take a drive around. The lights are looking fantastic.
