Yesterday I attended a seriously fancy event. So seriously fancy that I put a DRESS on for my third time in 10 years. So fancy that finger sandwiches were served and tea poured from real tea pots.
And so fancy because it was so lovingly organized, painstakingly put together by SO many people for the most beautiful cause.
Dress code: Heels and hats…AHHHHH! I have neither! A large fundraiser to help with completion of an amazing project and labor of love.
But I can draw from the 2015 Old Navy sun dress collection.
ALL proceeds would go to Raise Me Up. Hope Haven Childrens’ Shelter and the Shine Foundation. Hope Haven Shelter is a shelter, meeting place, foodbank (and more) that is NOW being completed in town for children in need.
Ground was JUST broken earlier this year — and it is expected to OPEN in November!!! There have been donations from around the country and around the world — and a team have been volunteering furiously.
Britney Travis, one of the organizers. I love this photo – you can see her dedication and care.
A MONUMENTAL project that will need funding on an ongoing basis. PLEASE check out more information on Raise Me Up and help where you can. They make it EASY by holding event after event. A Halloween Haunted House is next. Incredible women.
Take a look at all the photos and the hard work that went into this fundraiser.
And ALSO be amazing like I am as you try to answer THESE questions. Where do you get 10 deviled egg plates…and 100 tea cups on this island? Good grief! I’ve never seen anything like it!
I remain shocked and amazed. What a fantastic event.
And THANK you to Melody – who is a fab friend and incredibly talented. She took a bunch of photos for me AND styled the event (see her work at Dulce Belize Weddings). Here she is looking VERY Breakfast at Tiffany’s and EXACTLY like the photo on the ticket!
Now THAT’s attention to detail.
Many many MANY silent auction items including beautiful art and jewelry.
And the Mar in Marbucks 🙂
A beautiful afternoon for a beautiful cause. If you are not familiar with Raise Me Up, please take a look and try to attend some of the events. What they have done this year is beyond incredible.
The dedication and love on this island and the desire to help others is awesome.
