Every Who Down in Who-Ville was at Ambergris Caye’s Truck Stop Last Night

San Pedro’s Truck Stop hit another one out of the park last night.  The Holiday Craft fair, Christmas tree lighting and visit from Santa was jam packed with locals and visitors, kids and adults and quite a few dogs.

They outdid themselves with decorations this year…lights and Santas everywhere.  The stage looked PERFECT for holiday photos – not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.  My heart really DID grow three sizes when parents brought their tentative kids up to Santa Claus.  The adoration (or terror) in their eyes…

Reminds me of my favorite childhood photo – I never miss a chance to share it.

Here are my photos from last night’s party.   Such good times.

And before you ask…YES!  Everyone is wearing hoodies and flannels and scarves at the event.  Belize is seeing her first cold front – and the wind was BLOWING from the NW.  Temperatures dipped into the 60s last night and for islanders?  That is FRIGID.

Christmas weather!

Melody’s art and gorgeous glittery gift bags.  Beautiful leather from Twig and Pearl.  Her  bags – MADE IN BELIZE – are most DEFINITELY on my holiday list.

Krista from Crazy Canuck’s outdid herself with the signs.  I love the Belikin turtle!

The sun set (and the temperature dropped) – it was time for the tree lighting.

The stage was set for Santa….We were to be judged naughty or nice this year?  Would Santa arrive?

We ate THE BEST PIZZA on the island.  Truck Stop’s pizza, A Slice of Haven, is SO good.  We have eaten one for dinner about 4 times this month so far – Truck Stop is conveniently located on our way home – and we are TOTALLY smitten.  This conch pizza is buttery and garlicky, spicy and the conch SO TENDER…

We shared a piece with our friend Matt who is visiting from Miami – he thought the seafood was lobster.

DEEEEELICIOUS.

Santa parked his reindeer across the street, changed out of his winter boots and came over to the Truck Stop.  HURRAY!

Such a crazy fun evening.  Photos were taken and printed out (with proceeds going to the San Pedro Food Bank) and everyone left glowing with Christmas cheers.

What a fantastic event.

And now we are on to the next one!  TONIGHT, December 10th is  the 7th Annual lighted parade in San Pedro hosted by LOVEFm – and a CRAZY fun one.  Check out last year’s parade here.

See you there!
