Hooooray!!!! I can’t believe it’s finally here!
You may notice that my site looks COMPLETELY different. Sleek, simplified (I’m hoping those are two words that are popping into your mind), pretty, easier to navigate, and very very searchable. I’m so excited to finally share this with you guys. It’s been a long time coming.
A few years ago, I learned that my website could no longer be updated. It was an old version of Wordpress (the website-building tool) and at some point, it would just crash. Without warning. And it would probably be down for months. No longer could we just tweak something small…it needed to be built again…from the ground up.
My starting point: How do you take over 2500 blog posts, written over a dozen years, and try to organize them in a way that makes sense to someone who is visiting SanPedroScoop.com for the very first time?
As you can imagine, it’s been quite a process.
I’m excited to finally get it out there. There’s quite a bit of new content – especially the location guides! (You can start with the Guide for Ambergris Caye) I hope you like it as much as I do.
Thank you SOOO much 428designs for everything. I mean everything.
I will be making changes, twists and tweaks, additions and subtractions for a while. I’ll be playing with the ads too. Please feel free to send me a message if you see any glaring errors or if you have any glowing congratulations 🙂

Love the new site! Just got back from my third trip to Ambergris Caye. Thanks for keeping me in touch with the Island all these years.
I like that you placed the search bar top and center rather than it’s former position hidden between ~20 ads. And I like the “Hamburger” button on the top right replacing the former info page at the end of the blog.
But to me your blog header is missing the most important visual: The Scoop logo. Please bring back your Trademark® sunglasses. They add so much visual intrigue. The bird silhouette is cute but I don’t see it as a logo. Maybe that’s just me but I doubt it…
Nope. Out with the old and in with the new! I like the new logo and while I liked the old one too, she’s served her purpose. Onward and upward!
I like the color…Sea Foam, I believe.
