2024 San Pedro LobsterFest Block Party, One of the Biggest Celebrations in Belize
Last night, San Pedro threw its Lobster Festival big block party – the culmination of a 2-week festival Lobster Festival. Drinking, eating, dancing and celebration late into the night.
Jeff, his nephew and I got there early…just as the event was getting started. Which gave us plenty of time for goofy pics…and to eat our first lobster of the season.

Here are all my pictures of the 2024 Lobster Fest.

And Moon Bar – a GREAT beach spot to hang out for the day.

Food on display from one of Alaia’s Restaurants.

My first taste of lobster was with Black and White Garifuna Restaurant. Their hudut (a Garifuna coconut soup) is INCREDIBLE. And the lobster hudut did not disappoint. If you didn’t try it, get over the Black and White. It’s not only delicious Belizean food but it’s a very cool spot to visit.

We also ordered some delicious lobster dip. Another one of my favorite lobster foods in Belize.

My favorite, the steel drums…Pannerifix Band.

And on my way out, I passed these two and took their picture. This party would be going late night…and really getting busy…

Super fun event.
And I know…people are going to asking ALREADY when this event will happen next year. Here’s my educated guess – though it has not been announced yet.
My crystal ball says…the Block Party will be Saturday July 12th! I think it’s a safe bet but check the official Facebook page for updated information.

And watch the weather….
Sorry to have missed this. Was supposed to come down, the 6th, but Beryl………we postponed and now will be down end of month. There’s always next year!
Here’s a food assignment for you:
WHO has/makes the Best Cold Lobster roll…….the classic Maine style.
Been craving one forever. Maybe do a Best Bites, a scout sleuth mission these next two weeks to find it!
High end and low end, fancy and food truck…..Looking forward to what you find out!
TIA!
I would LOVE to go on this mission but it might cost me ALOT of money!
Though lobster rolls aren’t really “a thing” here. SO many there are only one or two…hmmm…now you have me thinking. And maine is mayo or no mayo? I need to do more research.
Mayo, cold roll…..I think it’s the Connecticut that does it warm with butter.
Maine is great, like a cold chicken, or tuna, but with Lobster!
ANY recs as to who even serves one would be appreciated!!
I’ve never seen that one! Only the warm buttery ones…but those are far between.
