Delicious Food at A New Secret Beach Spot & Paved Roads!

Over the past year or so, I’ve been admiring the posts from and about Harvest Cafe at Ix Chel Wellness Resort on the north side of Secret Beach. I have a friend visiting me here on the island – so time to mix things up. A good time to drive over to the Secret Beach area and check it the Harvest Cafe.

The road out there isn’t great…but as you get closer to the water…they are paving some of the roads. Which can be a bit shocking all the way out there! They don’t have electricity to the area but now they have a few roads.

I does smooth out a bit of the ride nicely.

And once you reach the water, you want to hook a right – and head north on the road. You’ll get to Harvest Cafe pretty quickly.

The cafe is more toward the road side of the big property

It’s simple and very very pretty. Everything on the menu sounds delicious. Homebaked breads…fresh tortillas and the most amazing coffee drink I’ve ever had. Anywhere.

The prices are more expensive than town (though equal or a bit less than some of the some of the fancier resorts). Either way, we loved the food and the coffee and checking out the small beautiful resort – and we will be back in the next few weeks.

Here are my photos.

A big Ceasar Chicken Wrap – really good garlicky dressing

My friend Jamie had “one of her best sandwiches ever”. The Shrimp Roll Wrap. Almost like a shrimp hand roll wrapped in a thin fresh flour tortilla.

While we were waiting for the wraps…we walked with one of the owners, Ryan, took us on a tour of one of the cabanas. It’s sooo beautiful. And I almost died when I saw a bathtub.

There are four different cabanas.

So pretty. We headed out and enjoyed some of the relatively small slivers of paved road.

Driving out on Secret Beach Paved Roads

It’s a really nice oasis amidst what can be a very hectic and crowded Secret Beach area. Very fun to check out a new spot and enjoy the reallly great food and coffee. We will be back!

Those sandwich wraps look awesome! And the paved road, how quaint. Is it wide enough for two carts to pass?

We headed over to Harvest Cafe right after we read this post, and it was even better than we expected! I ordered the maple cinnamon vanilla iced coffee, too…it was perfect! Such a great vibe and the owners & staff were so fun to visit with. Thanks for the post!
