San Pedro’s Lighted Holiday Boat Parade is BACK for 2024!

I don’t usually post 2 blogs in one day but this is big surprising amazing news for San Pedro – perhaps my favorite event of the Christmas season…if not the entire year is BACK ON! The San Pedro Holiday Lighted Boat Parade will take place December 14th, 2024 starting and ending in Central Park. The amazing, incredible San Pedro Tour Operators Association has seized the reins last minute. And in just over a week, our seafront will be filled with bobbing, dancing Christmas lights. I can’t wait.

(Plus…the next night will be a full moon – it should be BEAUTIFUL)

And it was one accidental post on Facebook that got it all re-started! Just a few days ago, Thursday I believe it was…a pink beachfront hotel that will remain nameless 😉 posted an announcement on Facebook – that the Lighted Boat Parade was taking place that night in San Pedro. The announcement was shared 200…maybe 300 times. I got a dozen or so messages asking me if it was really happening…people were EXCITED.

But it wasn’t real. A mistake. Perhaps a date from previous years. BUT it did get some folks thinking…some community members started messaging…and then thinking…and then plotting, calling and DOING.

The San Pedro Tour Operators today announce that the San Pedro Lighted Boat Parade is BACK ON! I think the first year was 2008 and the last year was 2019? Correct me if I’m wrong!

Saturday Dec 14th starting at 6pm from Central Park. There are quite a few boats signed up already! But ALLLL are welcome. It will move north and south – the outer limits have not been finalized. There will be a party/fair in the park during and after – if you want to rent a booth, please contact the San Pedro Town Council. There will be no judging of the boats – the money donated for the parade will be distributed to the boats for the decorations – based on size of the boat.

The event is being held in the spirit of unity, community, kindness, sharing, love and tolerance – without political affiliation. It’s for everyone.

If you have any questions, please contact the San Pedro Tour Operators, Karen and Roberto Canul for information.

It is such a beautiful night. The ENTIRE island comes into town to watch the boats…the kids are so excited…it’s magical. I hope to see you all there.

And if it is not apparent from this post…I AM SO EXCITED!
