Very Islandy, Very Creative, Only in Belize Tropical Holiday Decorations

Christmas is less than 2 weeks away…and Belize is certainly getting ready. We even had a “cold front” blow in last night with a brisk wind from the north and temperatures dipping into the low 70s in the evening on Ambergris Caye. It’s Christmas weather for Belize.

I thought I’d share some very Belizean Christmas decorations you can see on Ambergris Caye now and ones from past years. Some of my favorite around the island…

Driftwood Tropical Tree
Gorgeous huge tree made of driftwood at Moon Bar
Sandy snowmen on the beach

If you haven’t been to Moon Bar, now is a GREAT time to check it out. (Here’s my last “write-up” on Moon Bar at Mangata Villas)

I shared the Christmas tree at Tranquility Bay Resort a few days back – she’s a tropical beauty.

Conch and coconut christmas tree
Coconut palms and conch shells
Beach at Tranquility Bay
The views not bad either

Here are some gems from last year…I need to see if they are back up again for 2024!

Christmas tree in the sea at Portofino Resort
The tiny tree in the sea at Portofino – I didn’t see it there a few days ago
Simple Christmas tree at the end of the dock at Portofino
End of Portofino’s dock – this simple wooden tree
A snowman on the beach at Grand Caribe Resort
A holiday tradition on the Grand Caribe Resort beach, here in 2023

Love love love a snowman made from used golf cart tires.

The tree at the Truck Stop
The Truck Stop’s display is always AMAZING

And then years before that…

Tranquility Bay quite a few years ago…
One of my favorites – lobster traps at the old House of Culture in San Pedro
Simple but very Belize – Belikin Beer crates at Market Basket Store by Grand Caribe
Tuto’s Tree lit up at sunset
Tree at Boca Del Rio Park

Rustic, beautiful tree at SunDeck – about 6 miles north – a few years back
A FAVORITE pic from Panny’s old home – i love love love this conch tree

Thank you all who work so hard to make our town look beautiful for Christmas.

Do not forget the big events this week! Saturday, Dec 14th, The Lighted Boat Parade starts at around 6pm in Central Park – and goes north to Grand Caribe and then south to Caribbean Villas Resort and then ends up back in town. Should be AMAZING. The last announcement that I saw said that THIRTY BOATS have signed up. It might be the biggest parade yet!

And the very next day, December 15th, the LOVEFM Lighted Street Parade! Here’s last year’s parade if you’ve never been. It starts at Boca Del Rio Park at nightfall and heads thru town. For announcements on the route, keep eyes on the San Pedro Town Council FB page.

Also…if you want to start your weekend giving back to the community, consider joining us for a clean-up north.
