A Walk Around San Pedro Town: Everyday Beauty
There’s a ton going on in the world right now. And…the island is slow. Tourism is down 30% since last year (a number I heard at a meeting yesterday) – sargassum is really coming in – and…I just might have a case of island fever.

I generally don’t take pictures of ugly stuff…it’s not how I like to write and post. My MO is generally: Experience something (or even just see something or meeting someone interesting, beautiful, or different). 2. Get excited to share it 3. Share it
So yesterday I made an effort to do just that. I took a walk around Back Street and Middle Street in San Pedro to see what I could see.
Note: I am going to coastal Rhode Island (is that an oxymoron) for a quick visit at the end of June. It’s my first time back in just about 2 years. I’m quite sure that by day 3, I’ll be missing home.
Here are my photos from yesterday. Hopefully they bring you a tiny bit of joy too…
This picture that I take almost every day – shows a tiny bit of the sargassum. It’s as close as I’m going to get.
Now to town!
Dia De San Pedro festivities are coming up. And the Guatemalan rides are setting up!
I headed over to a BTIA lunch meeting at Ramon’s. The breeze was delicious on a red hot day.
And on my way home…I’m ALWAYS impressed by folks that can carry chainsaws or any heavy equipment while biking. It’s wildy impressive. I can’t even take one hand off…not at this age.

I totally do the same – I’m in my same route, I just want to get home – like you said IT’S HOT AND DUSTY. But it really adjusts my attitude to walk and wave and chat.
What do the spice vendors sell? I’ve been curious bought don’t want to bother them if I couldn’t use.

Nice pics… reminds me when I was in love with Ambergris Caye. You have a click group of business owners who run the tourism there who don’t have and will never understand why your tourism numbers are tsnking . You must be democratic minded and just don’t get it . Go to St Thomas Virgin Island and learn how to promote positive tourist numbers.
