A Christmas Market & The Lighted Boat Parade: Holidays In San Pedro

FINALLY, it feels like Christmas is really here. And honestly, it’s about time. Christmas is in four days!

Yesterday did it. Full-on holiday mania. Three events in one day and, for the first time this season, that real feeling that San Pedro is buzzing, town packed, visitors arriving, everyone clearly ready to celebrate Christmas in Belize. (I am very much hoping the rain predicted for Christmas Day and Boxing Day is wrong. Remember, weather forecasts in the tropics are notoriously unreliable, especially 3 to 4 days out.)

But we’ll worry about that later. For now, let’s get to the pictures, starting with the San Pedro Farmers Market at the Truck Stop, followed by the San Pedro Lighted Boat Parade.

Here we go.

The Market was scheduled for 11 to 2pm – I got there early. The decorations at Truck Stop look so so festive.

Pool bar open!
Love this cart decor
Cute cute beaded ornaments

My friend Sophie Lisbey’s great artwork – I HAD to get one of the ornaments (a turtle) – and now I wish I bought a hibiscus too. (Don’t worry – I messaged her first thing this morning)

Sophie’s colorful tropical paintings
So cute!

Melody’s Art shop has some very cute stuff…

The artist and this gorgeous colorful flowers…I want it!

These beautiful hand painted shells – you can find them in the jewerly shop at Fido’s in town called Amber Jewelry
Amber Jewelry also selling these great magnets and art work

My friend Colleen and FantaSea Gems.

Send a subtle message with your pearls 🙂

Debbie’s CUTE ornaments – I have a fork and spoon set on my tree right now.

The lovely folks from Fresh N Go – RIGHT across the street from Tropic Air.

And more!

We headed out to deliver some cookies in town…and then home before the boat parade.

Before we get to that…my photos are…well…non-existent. The boats were so cute but also quite a ways offshore – and impossible for me and my phone to photograph.

I know…excuses excuses.

Some quick pics in town.

Carambas looking pretty – but most folks were on Front Street for the parade

We walked down to the beach. Tacos La Diosa looking SO good.

This dog watching everyone go by….so cute!

But why can’t I come see a parade?

And then two pictures of the parade. THANKFULLY Dan and his boat pulled right up at our dock…the best photo I got!

And I found this one setting up at Amigos Del Mar dock. I love how you can make a tree with a casting net. I need to find one of those for next year! I’m going to start looking for an old one…

If you want some good pictures, check out Ambergris Today’s Facebook page. The great Tarpon, the cute grinch…

I know what a busy time of year it is and how much time and money go into decorating your boat – THANK YOU to the San Pedro Tour Operators for organizing this event, and a HUGE Merry Christmas to everyone who participated.

Oh…one more pic! I love all the manger scenes around town – like the large one in Central Park and the small ones tucked in yards. Beautiful.

Tucked under a stair case…

Argh, we’re staying south and heard the boats were going to Victoria House and we reserved a table at Admiral Nelson’s . They didn’t come to Victoria House. Would have gone to town if we knew that.
