Tonight, a development plan is being presented to the public for the EGREGIOUS development of Cayo Rosario on the leeward side of the island. It starts at 6:30pm at the Lions Den.
Here’s the plan.
Here’s one reason it shouldn’t happen:
They say the project isn’t economically without over-the-water structures.
EIA verbage says: “Over the water structures can not make up for a shortage of viable land”.
Not to mention this is a marine reserve, or that the land was acquired in shady land deals or that this island was an important bird rookery noted by the Belize Audobon or that the flats and sand bars around the island are used DAILY by fly fishermen…
Just below is my write up when this plan was originally announced.
The environmental consulting firm who put it together also wrote the EIA for projects like: Reef Village, South Beach Belize, Harvest Caye, the Chalillo Dam and more…
