Expat Life

When I moved from New York City to Belize in 2007, I just thought:  Hooray!  It's just like vacation but permanent.  I'm on forever vacation!  I had noooo idea what I didn't know.

Since then I've learned a few things...information that could be useful when considering a move to Belize or perhaps...anywhere.  Navigating life in your new home of Belize.   Such a gorgeous and warm and welcoming country but it's a different country from where I grew up.  And some days... I feel like a fish out of water.

"Expat" is a term that I don't love...but it's useful to me in this case.  I use it often and hear it a bunch.  To distinguish people, generally from North America or maybe Europe, who made the choice to relocate either part-time or full-time to Belize.
