New Beautiful Restaurant: Tacos La Diosa
A few days ago, Jeff and I went out on a lunch date and tried a new spot I’ve been hearing very good things about. Tacos La Diosa. My friend Kristi (San Pedrana, businesswoman extraordinaire) opened it just a month or so ago in a secret garden just around the bend from Palapa Bar…
I felt like I was in Merida, Mexico…in a secret garden away from the hot dusty street…Mexican music played softly in the background as we ate delicious meaty tacos and sipped agua frescos. This would be the most magical spot to host a pre-wedding tacos and margaritas party in the evening with the string lights all atwinkle. Maybe a pinata filled with tiny bottles of Belizean rum and Marie Sharps? I mean REALLY REALLY good.
Let me just show you the pictures I took. I didn’t realize until this morning that everything has a green-blue tint from the shades that hang above and that I am…well…not skilled in removing this tint from the photos. Now I’ll have to go back.
La Diosa means “The Goddess”. Love it. And I also love Mexican-style tacos.
The menu is simple…exactly what you need at a taco spot.
We ordered the Jamaica and Cucumber Lime Aqua Frescas. Both yummy but the cuke-lime is ammmazing on a hot day. Again, I am inspired to make this at home and again…I bet I…let it fall by the wayside.
Both deliciously seasoned and grilled…the al pastor was extra. The combo of Belizean pork (SO much more flavorful than “Americas Other White Meat”) and pineapple is killer.
We both loved it…and rave about the imaginary rehearsal dinner someone is going to host here. So so good. Try it – and take pictures in the evening please – and let me know what you think.
Tacos La Diosa is just around the bend from the traffic circle (and Caye Mart) – just before you reach the Palapa Bar, the beach and Sandbar.
Here are their hours…and their Facebook page so you can reach them.

Looks amazing quaint and some tasty tacos will stop in on our next visit to SP thanks for this post spread the word!!
We ate there the first week they were open, and I agree with everything you said. Staying at the Blue Tang Inn now has an added benefit!
I remember back in the 80’s when the U.S. Pig Farmers Council decided to start growing “the other white meat”. They damn near ruined pork – ‘sigh’
La Diosa looks great. But now I’m craving a Michelada with an added shot of Tequila…
Pls do a story about people’s solar roofed/powered golf carts. Thanks, pretty taco garden. Fish tacos are my choice.
Is this on the east/west road, just east of Caye Mart…? I think that’s what I am seeing, I need to get there ASAP :p
they still need battery replacement…and at over 8 g’s [$8000.] a change…. forget that !!!!!
a gasoline engine’s oil change, 2wice a year…cheaper !!!
i’d rather run out of gas…10 miles north…..than run out of electricity anywhere.
