Date/Time: Sunday, May 5th, 2019, All Day
Is it the fact that Cinco De Mayo is on a Sunday? There is a TON going on this year to celebrate the celebration of The Battle of Puebla, where the Mexicans defeated Napolean II (the son of THE NAPOLEAN) and the French in 1862.
Somehow Americans – a bit like St Patricks Day – have taken hold of what was a relatively minor holiday and made it into a day of beer, margaritas and guacamole. I’d guess that most people would think that Cinco De Mayo is Independence Day in Mexico.
Wrong. It is September 6 and it occurred about 50 years before this battle. What were the French doing in Mexico? You can read all about it here.
But I will say that this year it is HUGE in San Pedro. Here are just some of the events that I know about.
The best blend of bar name and holiday is absolutely
At Wayo’s Bar. I mean…PERFECTION. It also happens to be the bars anniversary. You can check out the invite here but here is the gist.
