It’s Christmas and New Year’s week in San Pedro, Belize – one of the busiest times of the year. The hotels, restaurants and tours are full, the town is lit and everyone (who is not working) seems to be at the beach. Yesterday was a gorgeous day so I took a walk south.
The very pretty Victoria House.
Someone was putting up lights on this new little gazebo. I’m imagining it make a beautiful wedding spot.
The grounds are immaculate. Not only were their gentlemen raking the beach but also sifting it. Sifting! Now that is dedication to perfection.
Just south, this is pretty much all that is left of the old “Fido’s South” or Sandbar Restaurant & Bar.
This pattern on a coconut tree is cool and creepy all at once. Is a woodpeck so meticulous?
A beautiful home (that you can rent) that is so pretty…all black and white inside. Tres luxurious. This little gazebo decorated in FAKE animal skin.
The BIG water taxis are coming from Belize City. This one was packed.I got home and received a call from Desiree at Maya Bags in Punta Gorda. The bag, that I had custom ordered about a week ago, was here. It’s here! My Christmas gift to myself (that I’ve secretly and not so secretly wanted for about a year.)
I hightailed it over to Tropic Air cargo and TORE IT OPEN and squealed like a 8 year old.
It’s even better than I originally thought…here is my IPhone and golfcart photo session with the bag. I freaking love it.
Getting yourself something that you REALLY love for the holidays is a really good thing. I immediately put it to use and spent the rest of the night prancing. If you didn’t notice it immediately, I accosted you and jammed it in your face. Thanks Anke from RubiMoon and Melody from Belizean Melody Gallery for playing along and appropriately oohing and aahhing.
For more information on Maya Bags, check my blog post below. Ordering directly is super easy (from Belize call Desiree at 722-2175)…and the amazing fabrics you can pick? Well…amazing.
I was in such a good mood I treated myself to my favorite Tuna Poke Salad at the Blue Water Grill. And took this picture of their Belizean Christmas trees.
Love your bag but even more, would have loved to see you prancing with it. I think a few photos of that are in order! Merry Christmas Rebecca!
Prancing must be seen in person. It has been made clear that my wardrobe needs to be modified/upgraded immediately to match the bag’s fabulosity.
Beautiful bag. Way to treat yo’ self! Have a very Merry Christmas!
Thanks Charlotte!
