Sudden Golf Cart Stops, A Delicious Lunch and the First Tropical Storm: A Gorgeous Day

Yesterday was a gem.  A come-to-a-screaming-halt on the golf cart…take a picture of a gorgeous cloud kind of day on Ambergris Caye.

The heat…the humidity…the first named tropical storm moving north away from our coast – a good week early on the traditional Atlantic Hurricane season of June 1 to  November 30.  (There have been a few dozen storms over the last century in March, April and May)

I’m not sure what it was but the sky was gorgeous.

Here is the latest update on Alberto.

Time to start checking the storm websites and if in need, calling the insurance guy.

Yesterday really was a gem.  Much of the sargasso has been moved away by shifting winds and the clouds were stunning.  Here are a bunch of my pictures taken around town.

Also, the list of the 2018 storm names.  Alberto, Beryl, Chris, Debby, Ernesto, Florence, Gorden, Helene, Isaac, Joyce, Kirk, Leslie, Michael, Nadine, Oscar, Patty, Rafael, Sara, Tony, Valerie and William

It’s the time when the flamboyant trees – ridiculously bright yellow and orange flowers that are…well…flamboyant.

Here are some photos that I took yesterday. There is a GORGEOUS one right in the middle of town…

It’s scientific name Delonix Regia = flame tree.  Makes sense.

Lunch at Wild Mango’s was delicious.  Amy’s Chef Salad with fruit and chicken and cashews is a favorite.

And a quick stop at El Pescador for a meeting…with very little wind, the sea was FLAT, the air HOT but man…what a pretty day.

It’s a holiday in the US – Memorial Day and the official kick-off for summer.

Enjoy!
