SAGA Humane Society’s 18th Annual Huge Halloween Fundraiser is Just Too Cute

Happy Halloween from Ambergris Caye, Belize! The weekend has been filled with kids’ parties, late-night adult parties at bars and restaurants, and then, my favorite, the big beach fete to raise money for the amazing humane society on Ambergris Caye. SAGA works tirelessly to care for the MANY dogs and cats on the island.

This year the party was held at Caribbean Villas just south of town – and everything looked beautiful on this large swath of beach front. Dogs stuffed into costumes…humans drinking beer and eating BBQ, kids running on the beach. The perfect Halloween party.

Music was playing, raffle numbers and prizes were being called, there was facepainting and games down on the pretty pretty beach.

The volunteers made some really creative decorations.

This sweet girl waiting for the contest – she had a pink tool belt and helmet to complete her construction worker outfit.

And then spaghetti and meatballs and her chef. SUCH a great costume.

Amazing party, very impressively behaved dogs and just the best cause I can think of…

If you’ve ever been to Ambergris Caye and you’ve seen a lovely beach stray, think of SAGA. Just about everyone I know who visits falls in love with a dog.
