2023’s LoveFM Holiday Parade Brings ALL the Holiday Cheer to San Pedro
Last night, the LoveFM Holiday Parade marched and drummed and danced and sparkled through San Pedro and lit up the entire town with holiday cheer. Every single resident of our island lined the streets – and the crowd was just as festive as the participants.
Even the grouchiest Christmas Grinch was impressed.
The lighted parade was scheduled for 5:30pm. Sundown. And it was a GORGEOUS night. CHILLY! Temperatures dipping into the low 70s!
The wind coming from the north – adding to the Christmas chill in the air – leaves the ocean side clear and flat. I was concerned I was late because, even after almost 17 years in Belize, I still get nervous that something will start on time and I will miss something great. The parade started closer to 7pm.
The bars along the line-up area were hopping. Especially Sandy Toes.
Here are all my pictures of the parade – from pre-sunset to later as I waited for my cart to get “unlocked” as the parade ended. So many marching drum corps and incredible dancers and Santas and conga lines and excited kids catching candy and toys…to best experience it, I think you just need to be there.
This gorgeous photo by the San Pedro Town Council captures it beautifully.
They encouraged me to take a step up for a photo of the manger scene by the Catholic Church. Good call!
Miss San Pedro and the SPTC Santa.
THE most popular marcher was Olaf…mobbed with kids and parents for photos. He had a few bodyguards and handlers!
The police cadets mean business! Christmas business.
What a super fun night. My plan for next year – is to stay overnight in town! And head to the town center for all the pictures…
I LOVE this event. Thank you so much LOVEFM for coming up with this whole idea. I think the first LOVEFM parade in San Pedro was 2011…I found my post from 2012. (Is that Miss San Pedro in one of those old pics – it is! Age 11 🙂 )
And it’s getting bigger and longer and better each year. Merry Christmas everyone! And Happy Holidays.
