March Brings Warmer Weather and My Walk Around Town
I’ve been cooped up for the past several days with a head cold. Yesterday it was time to get outside to shake off that ick feeling. March is here…bringing warmer weather (a few degrees in temp and a bit more humidity makes a difference!) and what locals call “The Easter Winds”. A stiff breeze off the ocean that keeps you cool and very very salty.

During the really HOT summer and fall months here on the island (July thru October), Jeff and I drink banana shakes almost every day when we get home, dusty, sweaty and salty, from errands in town. Three ingredients, thrown in the Vitamix, make summer so much better: Frozen banana slices, a splash of milk (almond, soy, dairy, whatever…just enough to get the mixture moving) and a HUGE spoonful of Belize Chocolate Company cocoa powder (there is no substitute) It is SO simple and SO delicious. Jeff and I talk about starting a roadside stand that ONLY serves this one smoothie. (With rum and without)
Yesterday was the first time since about November that I craved this shake on my drive home from town. Summer is coming!
Here are a bunch of photos I took yesterday while walking around town.
First, I stopped by my friend’s spot – she brought me some Cadbury eggs from the states…my favorite candy in the whole world.
(NO not those gross ones with the gluey yolks, the mini eggs)
Election flags and posters everywhere! (What to Expect From Elections on March 6th)
A random cat snoozing at the doorway to the Belize Chocolate Company
And the view from their back porch.
Carnival flags still flying over town. I love them.
You’ll see the purple bunting for Lent on some of the local houses. It looks so festive too.
(The best coffee in town can be found at Lavish Habit)
Looping around to Middle Street, San Pedro.
Saul’s Cigar Shop.
The menu at a local deli.
A bunch of old advertising signs…
It was time to head back home…I hope you are all having a great weekend and the weather is great where you are too.

Oh wow….that’s great. Though I do my best to avoid where it’s not…at least for photography.
Thanks
Brought back great memories.
Saul’s Cigar shop a must visit for the Stogey smokers out there.
Great selection
