Beautiful Breakfast at Matachica Resort

Yesterday we had such a lovely breakfast at Matachica Resort, about 5 miles north of San Pedro.

Jeff’s mom, Ursula, and her friend Ken are visiting from Connecticut – for 10 days of warm weather, sea air and beach combing, visiting, and eating out.

And I can not get enough of Matachica and their amazing resort-baked bread and pastries. The entire resort is gorgeous and I LOVE a resort dog. Taco is the perfect Matachica mascot.

The skies have been hazy in the morning…clearing quite a bit by the afternoon. Here are my pics from yesterday and a throwback puppy pic from January 2021. When Matachica first adopted Taco and his sister Coco. Coco lives at their sister resort Gaia Jungle Lodge (my visit in June 2020…wow) – I’d better go visit her too!

Taco yesterday with his teddy bear. I told you it was a hazy morning!

I know I want the continental breakfast. This morning, it came with a homemade buttery croissant and a delicious coffee cake.

Pastries

Beautiful pancakes with lime curd and pineapple.

Buttermilk pancakes
Avocado toast with a soft-boiled egg and delicious curry aioli

Jeff had a breakfast sandwich on a homemade pillowy brioche roll with yummy onion marmalade, bacon and egg.

I love breakfast. Best meal of the day. No doubt about it. And my favorite way to check out a splurgy resort on more of a bargain budget.

I snapped a few more pictures returning to our golf cart. It was a lovely way to start the day. And Taco? He was playing fetch with a coconut one of the guys was tossing into the water. You, Taco, you are a good good good good boy.

It was clearing up beautifully.

That dog needs a companion animal- not another dog but something like a miniature donkey

We had friends staying at our place up at Sapphire Beach who stopped at Matachica and fell in love, too. What I appreciate the most is their consistency. Consistently excellent and on point year after year.
