New Years Eve on Ambergris Caye 2019

Celebrating New Years Eve in San Pedro Belize

I feel about as qualified to write this post as I would writing one about…say…nuclear fission or Disney theme parks.  (I have about the same amount of interest in both.   =NO interest)

So even though I don’t enjoy staying up late or the huge expectations that come along with it, I DO recognize that New Years Eve is two days away.  And that many visitors and residents will be going out to enjoy one of the biggest party nights of the year.  To ring in the new decade.

A quick look at the awesome glitter Santas in San Pedro.  Even Mr Claus yo-yos in his weight..

(Additional note:  if you ask Jeff – my boyfriend – about NYE in San Pedro…he will tell you a strange story about a party long ago at Mata Chica Resort with a Bette Midler impersonator and a brush with Derek Jeter.  I would go out in a SECOND if I thought there was any chance of that re-occurring – not the Bette Midler part….)

Many people go out to a late dinner (think Blue Water Grill, Las Terrazas, Elvi’s Kitchen, Red Ginger – make sure you get a reservation!)…and then head into San Pedro town where the bars, clubs and street front will be bustling with revelers.   There will be music and a light show in the park starting at 10pm.  Here’s the pre-flyer.

All leading up to the big FIREWORKS display over the water in the center of town.  Many people sit on docks – or head to the center of town to enjoy it.

Here are some suggestions for what you can do.  With a golf cart and designated driver…you can hop between.

Businesses – please send me any flyers you have – I’m not seeing very many on Social Media this year.

There are dinner and party options too if you’d like to just stick to one spot.

Rain Restaurant at Grand Caribe Resort – the rooftop lounge should be a great spot to view fireworks

At Croc’s Bar about 1.5 miles north of town.  (Facebook link)

They will be having their own fireworks display.

Another spot outside of town that will be having their own fireworks display – about 2 miles south at Mahogany Bay.  (Facebook link)

I hope you have a fun night – and if anyone at ALL wants to GuestScoop this one.  PLEASE take pictures of your night and report back!  I’d love to feature you and your friends on this blog.

My last guest NYE post was quite a few years back – Krista and her night on the town.  Take a look.
