Things I Saw Yesterday In San Pedro

Yesterday, the weather cleared up beautifully…sunny but still cool.  I was in my North Face jacket, tourists were walking around in bathing suits.  I headed into town for lunch and an afternoon meeting.  YES!  I sometimes have real business meetings.

I never get sick of this view from the Squirrel’s Nest at Mata Rocks Hotel.  Never.

If you have a gas driven stove/oven in your home in Belize, you are familiar with these delivery trucks.  One large tank seems to last about 4-6 months in your home while you go through 2-3 tanks a week in a commercial kitchen.   Refills now cost about $135bzd each.

I spotted this company that I haven’t seen on the island before.  Wonder what makes it ECO friendly?  Does anyone know?

I met a friend at Wild Mango’s for the delicious chef salad and this fancy drink.  It was called “The Last Mango in Belize”.  Yum.

I stopped by Belize Bank and once outside, I spotted this sign.

I know that Lola’s Pub had a bit of an overhaul during the Low Season and now tout the largest selection of whiskeys on the island.  I’ll be the judge of that!

I have no seen a bigger selection on the island.  SanPedroScoop certifies the claim.  And this set of machines?  Trouble..

And though I didn’t eat there, they have a nice new menu…perfect for lunch or bar snacks.  Let me know how it is if you’ve been to Lola’s.

The owner was taking advantage of his new liquor selection to work on some new cocktails for the menu.   Free taste?  Of course!  This sample was delicious…almost a butterscotchy mudslide.

And now back home..the political paraphernalia is out in full force in anticipation of the March 7th mayoral election.  This wall looks freshly painted.

And they are still working out the kinks in every one’s favorite edifice.  I guy was inside on a ladder for a couple hours.

Have a great day.
